Anshe Sholom has youth programming to ensure that Shabbat is a meaningful and enriching time for our children. You can view an overview of our Shabbat morning youth tefillah groups and babysitting below. To view the details of tefillah groups for the coming week, visit asbi.org/event/youth-tefillah.

Tot Shabbat (children 2 and under)

Children and their parents are invited to get excited about Shabbat! This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn basic liturgy and sing Shabbat songs in a warm and comfortable environment. Each child has the chance to hold and kiss a tot-sized Torah.

Gan (ages 3-JK)

This service is geared toward those who are ready to move on from Tot Shabbat, but are not yet readers. Gan expands on what children have learned in Tot Shabbat, encouraging them to sing and participate even more on their own. With a heavier emphasis on the Tefillah part of the service, Gan Shabbat to serves as a bridge between Tot Shabbat and Yeladeinu. This is a drop-off service.

Yeladeinu (K-1st grade)

As a child enters Kindergarten, he or she is familiar enough with the Tefillah to participate in a more in-depth service, conducted from a special Yeladeinu siddur. Following Tefillah, children participate in games or stories, and are encouraged to lead the congregation in Ein K’Elokeinu and Aleinu in the main sanctuary.

Tze'ireinu (2nd-3rd grade) & Na’areinu (4th-5th grade)

As children move into 2nd through fifth grade, they participate in Tefillah, which is then complemented by interesting Parsha-related games and discussion.

Babysitting (ages 2-7)

We also offer babysitting on most Shabbat mornings for ages 2 through 7.
